<p>My client is looking for a Experienced Controls Test Engineer willing to be based in Aberdeen running a Test Cell Facility. Typically my client is looking for Turbine Performance Engineers with Test Cell exposure. A Controls or Commissioning background is essential. </p>
<p>The Engineer will be based at my client&#8217;s Aberdeen base for the majority of the role, however some site and offshore work will be required. </p>
<h3>Key responsibilities </h3>
<p>Key responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following: </p>
<ul>
<li>To improve test reliability and strive for first time pass.</li>
<li>Provision of technical and fault-finding support on gas turbine control systems to internal and external customers during testing function.</li>
<li>Provision of operational technical support for internal customers.</li>
<li>Responsible for the continuous improvement of processes and systems &#8211; review of lessons learned; formal close out with internal customers.</li>
<li>Effective communication, both internally and externally.</li>
<li>Observe and enforce Company rules and regulations and comply with Company safety, quality and management systems.</li>
<li>Liaison with Production Support to ensure all customer documentation is up to date.</li>
<li>Responsible for the timely extraction of Test Support Data, including vibration, and supply to Production Support.</li>
<li>Responsible for Controls issues on turbine packages.</li>
<li>Project management for annual maintenance including liaison with sub-contractors and maintenance budget control. </li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications/Knowledge</h3>
<p>The successful candidate will have the following qualifications/knowledge:</p>
<ul>
<li>Product knowledge of gas turbines and gas turbine control systems past and present essential.</li>
<li>Knowledge of and ability to interpret technical drawings.</li>
<li>Ability to plan job effectively preferably including cost management.</li>
<li>Experience of OEM control systems including RP2, Allen Bradley PLC5/40 and CL5000, Siemens S7 preferred. Also detailed knowledge of turbine systems.</li>
<li>Experience and working knowledge of Rolls Royce Entronics Control System.</li>
<li>Able to lead and co-ordinate a multi-disciplined matrix managed team.</li>
<li>NVQ/SVQ/NC (or equivalent) &#8211; Time Served or equivalent. </li>
</ul>
<h3>Desirable Skills</h3>
<ul>
<li>Good communication skills.</li>
<li>Fault finding and diagnosis skills essential.</li>
<li>Must be able to interpret technical requests from internal or external customers.</li>
<li>Reporting writing skills essential.</li>
<li>Ability to work on own initiative.</li>
<li>Must be computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, technical programmes).</li>
<li>Detailed knowledge of P&amp;IDs, Control Schematics and Gas Turbine Systems working essential.</li>

<li>Produce Product and System level test plans from customer requirement and project team inputs.</li>
<li>Identify test equipment requirements for all Product/System test plans, and ensure it is available.</li>
<li>Carry out internal validation of products against Product and System level test plans, ensuring a full validation report and audit trail is available.</li>
<li>Prepare Products for external certification, identifying any additional information/scripts/equipment that may be required for the external certification.</li>
<li>Carry out Certification runs on products where the certification body allows these to be carried out externally.</li>
<li>Provide consultation with other parts of the EMEA validation team on test plans/processes where EMEA teams have been sub-contracted by national and international customers. This includes review of customer test plans.</li>
<li>Ensure all test plans and associated documents are kept up to date, modified, released according to Company procedures, with associated audit trail.</li>
<li>Ensure that all issues are logged via Test Result sheets and/or Bug/AVP database.</li>
<li>Participate in all Software Release Reviews.</li>
<li>Keep up to date with the latest evolutions of APACS and EMV specifications, and advise on potential deficiencies where appropriate.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Essential Skills and Abilities </h3>
<ul>
<li>Technical and IT abilities.</li>
<li>Computer literate, with competent PC skills.</li>
<li>Able to work as part of the team and use own initiative.</li>
<li>Possess good communication skills (written and oral).</li>

<h3>Candidate Requirements</h3>
<ul>
<li>The ideal candidate will have a minimum of an HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering</li>
<li>Able to read and understand wiring and schematic diagrams</li>
<li>Ability to understand configuration of protection IED&#8217;s and relays.</li>
<li>Must have demonstrable experience with protection systems and have good knowledge of secondary injections and electrical test safety regulations.</li>

<h3>Vacancy Description</h3>
<p>The client is a leading supplier of specialised electro-mechanical systems that are used throughout the UK and Europe. This well respected organisation has been supplying this marketplace for decades, establishing and nurturing long term relationships with a customer base at the forefront of technology.</p>
<p>Following expansion, they seek to recruit a customer focused and highly motivated Electrical / Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, responsible for developing customer relationships and commissioning high value capital equipment in France. The role will involve extensive travel throughout France and some staying away from home &#8211; typically this will be up to 2 weeks at a time. You will carry out the commissioning, final testing and validation of these sophisticated PLC-controlled systems and provide full customer training and user documentation.</p>
<h3>Vacancy Requirements</h3>
<ul>
<li>To apply you should be fluent in French and English and must be prepared to relocate to France.</li>
<li>You should have a strong background in the servicing and commissioning of electro-mechanical equipment.</li>
<li>You should be multi-skilled with an electrical-bias.</li>
<li>You may be qualified with a City &amp; Guilds / HNC / HND in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or Mechatronics</li>
<li>PC literate.</li>
<li>You should have experience of fault-finding, repairing and commissioning a wide range of industrial capital equipment including single &amp; 3 phase electrics, PLCs (Mitsubishi), pneumatics, hydraulics, combustion heaters, motors, gears and general mechanics.</li>
</ul>
<p>You may currently work in a service or commissioning role, working on a range of high value electro-mechanical capital equipment, or you may be currently working in a maintenance engineer role in a factory or workshop environment.</p>

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer working in the Industry EMC Group with our leading services client based in Fareham, Hampshire. The role will be predominantly test engineering on a combination of Aerospace, Defence and Industrial products both onsite and in-situ. The main focus will be EMC work but with a significant element of TEMPEST testing.</p>
<h3>Responsibilities:</h3>
<ul>
<li>EMC / TEMPEST &#8211; Both Screened enclosure and In-situ.</li>
<li>Test Plan and Report Writing.</li>
<li>Test Equipment / Method Development / Evaluation.</li>
<li>Assistance to customers during failure phase of their EMC test program and general consultancy prior to start of job.</li>
<li>Validation of clients&#8217; requirements (may require site visits).</li>
<li>Assistance to sales with provision of quotations.</li>
<li>Project Management of EMC jobs including financial control.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Essential Criteria:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Excellent Interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team or individually.</li>
<li>Pro-active and self motivated with the ability to manage own workload.</li>
<li>Knowledge of TEMPEST testing techniques with a minimum basic TEMPEST qualification.</li>
<li>Flexibility and a commitment to a rostered shift pattern to meet business requirements.</li>
<li>A good engineering qualification, or relevant experience in RF / Electronics.</li>
<li>Commitment to continuous improvement initiatives.</li>
<li>Excellent IT skills and experience of Microsoft Office.</li>
<li>Full Driving License</li>
</ul>

<li>SC security clearance</li>
<li>Transmitter Testing Qualification</li>
