An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electronics Test Engineer/Build Engineer to join our client, a leading manufacturer of digital audio electronic products.
In this role you’ll be responsible for testing, fault finding and repairing to component level, complex audio digital products, using manual and automatic test/repair equipment. You’ll also improve processes by carrying out and acting on fault analysis.

Responsibilities

As an Electronics Test Engineer/Build Engineer your responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnosing faults in complex audio assemblies highlighted by the test function
  • Repairing faults to component level
  • Booking products onto the system and informing the shipping department of product availability
  • Communicating all component quality or deficiencies to the Line Manager

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this position you must have the following:

  • Experience of testing audio electronic equipment
  • The ability to solder to IPC standards
  • Excellent component recognition skills

As an Electronics Test Engineer/Build Engineer you should also be a team player with a focus on quality and continuous improvement. A good level of computer literacy and strong communication skills are also required.

A degree (or equivalent) would be beneficial to your application.

The Role of a Maintenance Engineer

Your main priority will be keeping any production down time to a minimum. The site produces a huge 2,000,000 units per day, so meet this goal you will be required to perform planned maintenance on the company’s wide range of plant and production equipment to ensure reliability. When necessary you will also be required to address any reactive maintenance issues therefore your fault finding skills must be of the highest calibre to work within this highly skilled team.

Key Skills

  • The successful applicants will be mechanically or electrically biased with a good knowledge of the opposing skill set
  • An understanding of PLC automation.

Company: Leading electro/mechanical design, development and manufacturing organisation operating within a secure market sector and offering good long term development opportunities.

An opportunity has arisen for a an electronics biased Test Equipment Support / Production Support Engineer to provide technical support to manufacturing teams in a complex electro-mechanical manufacturing environment incorporating RF technology. The role is a pivotal, high visibility role providing both an internal service within manufacturing but also acting as a point of contact for customers.

Typically this will encompass resolving daily technical issues which arise, support of diagnostic work on test failures and resolving test equipment issues and diagnostic test improvements. You will also use your analytical skills to determine root cause of problems and identify product or process changes to resolve them.

Key accountabilities will include:

New Product Introduction (NPI) support to production
Investigation, resolution and prevention of test equipment problems
Support with continuous improvements to test equipment and production processes
To support and work with the design engineering team
Training of test engineers and assemblers as required
Liaison internally and externally with customers to resolve issues

The ideal candidate will be HND / BSc qualified in an electronics or engineering discipline with an understanding of analogue circuits and RF test methods and test equipment. Knowledge of electronics packaging and thermal design for electronic equipment required. Preference will be given to individuals with prior experience of military or aerospace test processes.
Due to the high visibility in the role, first class communication skills, both verbal and written are essential.
