PCB Test / Repair Engineer
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the nature of the work involved applicants for this role MUST be able to obtain UK GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE or ideally already be cleared. Applicants must therefore be UK Nationals, presently resident within the UK and have no unspent criminal convictions to be able to obtain clearance within a timely manner. Applicants with a Work Permit or are presently based overseas need not apply as the applicants would be immediately rejected.
Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- ONC/OND minimum, in Electronics or equivalent (or working towards this).
- Good experience in a relevant electronics role.
- Computer literate.
- Experience in analogue, digital and RF electronics within a relevant test environment.
- Competent in use of RF test equipment.
- Ability to follow and carry out complex test procedures.
- Good, developing, faultfinding skills.
- Good communications Skills both written and oral.
- Work solo or part of a team.
Vacancy Description
PCB Test / Repair Engineer
- To test new equipment manufactured by our client to correct specifications to component level.
- Provide test assistance to colleagues within the manufacturing department and support for the repair of customer returned equipment.
- Test PCB sub assemblies and final assemblies to specification.
- Record results on production test reports.
- Supply the correct WIP information to supervisor relating to tasks carried out.
- Comply with all relevant quality procedures.
- Perform faultfinding/repair on faulty equipment to component level.
- Provide fault records and FTY information for work carried out.
- Carry out ESD, PATS testing and equipment calibration duties as required.
- Assist other members of the department as required by supervisor.
- Correct and amend test procedures/reports, when required, liaising with Engineering dept.
- Represent test at reviews, when required.

Test Engineer – Electronic Development
Our client researches, designs and develops secure communication systems, hardware and software. They are looking for people to be part of a multi-skilled project team delivering communication systems for use by Her Majesty’s Government at home and overseas.
Responsibilities
Working within a modern electronic assembly and test facility, you will be responsible for:
- Testing and fault-finding to component level on a wide arrange of complex communication and related electronic systems.
- Continual review of existing test specifications to ensure they are fit for purpose and to identify changes to enhance test processes.
- Development of test specifications for newly developed products, including the provision of test documentation.
Required Skills
Applicants should have the following skills and experience:
- In-depth practical experience of electronic test and fault-finding gained from working in a high quality manufacturing environment
- An ONC/HNC (or higher) or equivalent in Electronics Engineering
Desirable skills include
- A degree in Electronic Engineering
- RF circuit testing
- Inspection of electronic assemblies
- The ability to develop test programmes using LabVIEW or Boundary Scan Technology Microsoft Visio
- An appreciation of JTAG technology
