Field Test Engineer (Power Generation)

The Role of a Test Engineer:

You will travel around the UK in a team of up to 4 engineers to the customer’s premises. You will be required to analyse and test (in great detail) the full range of equipment on site including large gas turbines, compressors and fluid flow combustion systems for example. Along with this, you may also need to strip down and rebuild these machines on site when complicated faults have occurred.

Key Skills

  • For this role you will need a recognised Engineering qualification.
  • Experience on related machinery, such as turbines or compressors would be advantageous.
  • You will need to have good communication skills, a good work ethic and the ability to learn and pick up the training provided.

The Role of a Test/Field Service Engineer:
The role will require you to travel to range of client’s sites around the UK testing and validating a wide range of different Autoclaves and Sterilizers. You will need to utilise a wide range of both electrical and mechanical skills to carry out the role successfully. This is a Monday to Friday position however there is the availability for weekend work to complement your basic salary.

Key Skills

  • Ideally the Field Service Engineer will have previous experience within the industry on either Autoclaves or washers and sterilizers.
  • An ideal qualification to hold would be HTM 2010 or HTM 2030.
  • You will need to have exceptional customer facing skills along with hard working ethic.

The Role of a Field Service Engineer

As a field service engineer your role would be to visit a wide range of clients within a defined geographical area. Your diagnostic skills would be challenged on a daily basis as you would be installing and servicing a variety of analytical and laboratory equipment. You would also be responsible for providing onsite training and guidance to clients on defined product groups. This position for be suit an engineer looking to work for a prestigious company who invest in their engineers.

Key Skills

For this role the successful applicant would need to have experience within this industry as well as on High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) equipment. You may have also achieved an HND/HNC or equivalent qualification within your career. Standards are high in this company so you would need to be confident not only in your electrical and mechanical skills but also in your customer service skills to ensure that customer satisfaction levels are maintained.
